Twenty-Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time – October 2, 2022

  1. We pray for all in lay and ordained ministry, as they labour for the growth of God’s kingdom on earth; may he keep them strong in the faith, provide them with the energy and resources they need, and inspire them daily with his love. We pray.

  2. We pray for all meetings, conventions, and conferences, for all policy making and planning; may delicate negotiations be sensitively led, and painful decisions bravely and wisely taken. We pray.

  3. We pray for those we have upset or angered, and those who have upset or angered us; we pray for those who worry us, and those we love but seldom manage to see. We pray.

  4. We pray for those who are far from home and those for whom it is too dangerous to return home; we pray for the lonely, the unhappy, those in pain and those convalescing. We pray.

  5. We remember those who have come to the end of their earthly life, and for those whose lives feel bleak and empty without them. We pray for mercy and peace and comfort. We pray.
