Bishop Lorenzo Bianchi celebrated the consecration of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Tai Po on 11.6.1961. Rev. Narciso Santinon of PIME was appointed the first rector. To pay tribute to the Holy Mother, the church was thus named as the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Other than the main church itself, there are quite a few subsidiary chapels and mass centres as follows:
